The purpose of this blog is to inform people about the wide field of anthropology, with a main focus on cultural anthropology. Though some of my posts are also think pieces on different media, and current events. Anthropology is an incredibly important yet underrated field that is often widely misunderstood. At its most basic form, anthropology is simply the study of humanity. Its roots come from the greek words “anthropos” meaning “man” and “logos” meaning “word”. The study of anthropology extends into many different aspects of life and understanding, including the realms of biology, linguistics, archeology, and social science. Hopefully through sharing information about human history and discovery, we can encourage discussions surrounding what exactly it means to be human.
